I was honored to join Martin Medeiros on The Persuasion Lab podcast for a discussion about influence and leadership in the context of software engineering, architecture, and organizational change.
We talked about persuading and negotiating with executives and technology teams, especially in moments when the challenge is not merely to win an argument, but to build clarity, trust, and forward motion. Those themes sit close to the heart of my work because good leadership is rarely about force. It is about helping people see more clearly, align around shared purpose, and move together with conviction.
The conversation also ranged more widely. We touched on my family connection to Jimmy Doolittle and what leadership under pressure can teach us about courage and responsibility. We also spent time on AI, including how leaders and teams can work with it productively without surrendering judgment, craftsmanship, or accountability.
